Once again this year, Dallas is proving to be a hot spot for New Year Eve's music celebrations. There are shows at various clubs in the city for music lovers of all genres to help bring in the New Year.
Those who are into the hard rock/industrial scene should check out the New Year's Eve lineup at Trees in Deep Ellum. The headlining band is the hardcore Ugly Mus-tard. Dallas metal favorite Slow Roosevelt will also be featured during the rocking event.
Ugly Mus-tard (no one really knows what the hyphen is for) has been an industrial metal band in the Dallas scene since 1995. One year after they started playing in clubs, they earned the Best Industrial/Dance Music Award from the Dallas Observer. One of their hits, High, was a regular selection on the KEGL music station in the 90s.
Slow Roosevelt became one of the premier hard rock bands that performed during the peak of Deep Ellum. They formed in 1996, and for several years in a row, the Dallas Observer recognized them with the Best Metal Act award. While they used to be a main attraction at music venues, they have not performed as frequently in current years.
Tickets for the NYE 2011 at Trees show on Saturday, December 31 can be purchased directly from Trees Dallas. Tickets range in price from $20 to $25. Doors open for the show at 7pm, and the show is scheduled to run until 2am. All ages are welcome, so bring the kids to help you headbang in the New Year!
