Zelliack

Zelliack

Not sure what progressive R&B is? Check out Zelliack. They’re really creating something new here, and it’s worth a listen. That’s a fixed original expression if I’ve ever seen one.

Zelliack has a good handle on the power of the sun, and “Autumn In Analog” is my favorite track on their five song Noir Tone EP. He starts off with a very clear statement of his admiration for our never ending source of heat and energy. Zelliack looks at the sun as a thing which should be obeyed, and you maybe should too.

“Call Me Old Fashioned” is really great. It’s slower and more of the kind of song you’d hear at a client appreciation dinner than in a college dorm, but the change up is very nice. Zelliack is very versatile. Not a lot of bands can pull this kind of song off nowadays. His voice is pretty perfect for this. This is where they get the justification for that jazz tag. This is a great slow jazz song. I’d play it anywhere.

Check out this band! No matter what you like, there’s a chance you will enjoy this band. They’ve got a lot of variety in their music, and everything has a pretty great dynamic. If nothing else, you’ll be entertained by the obvious enthusiasm in this guy’s voice. The guitar work on every song is worth listening to, and the elaborate layering of instrumentation is enough to keep your attentions for several listens through of every song.
